Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for an adult critical care position requiring 2+ years of experience and CA state RRT licensure.

Details

• Covers all adult respiratory services including ER, Rapid Response Team, Code Blue, medical/surgical floors, and ICU
• Adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• One weekend required per month
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Adult RRT required unless otherwise noted
• CA state RRT licensure required if applicable
• BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• NBRC certification preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience performing arterial punctures and interpreting arterial blood gases
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and fresh tracheostomy
• Experience with medication administration including Albuterol, Atrovent, inhaled steroids, and Nitric Oxide
• Pulmonary function experience including spirometry
• Current supervisor references obtained within the past year

Additional Information

• Perform therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities
• Assess, treat, and evaluate patients while implementing the plan of care based on diagnosis and physician orders
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers through competent assessment and effective communication
• Management or lead experience is a plus
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Compliance documents, including lab work, must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Candidates may only submit to one facility within this health system at a time
