Incumbent will fly to San Clemente Island from Naval Base Coronado on Monday mornings and live/work on the island during the week and return to Naval Base Coronado on Fridays afternoons.

Lodging will be provided at San Clemente Island (single room with shared bathroom and kitchenette). A company vehicle will also be provide for work use..

• Under direction of the Task Order Manager, the incumbent will provide support for the daily custodial maintenance and operation of all facilities at Naval Base Coronado (at San Clemente Island).
• Incumbent will perform a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning of all assigned buildings and facilities.
• Will keep supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.

Pay Rate: $24.06 base + $2.50/hr. differential + $1.25/hr. differential + $1.75/hr. differential = $29.56

Essential Job Duties:

• Able to do a variety of tasks.
• Plan, organize work, and meet all deadlines.
• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and related fixtures including drinking fountains, refrigerated water coolers, custodial mop sinks, restroom sinks, urinals, showers, and toilets.
• Sweep, vacuum and mop floors.
• Replenish supplies in restrooms, facilities, etc.
• Ensure all dusting (both high and low) areas are maintained as necessary and polishing furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Wash windows (both interior and exterior), mirrors, and walls. Washing windows may require the use of ladders.
  Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles.
• Move and arrange furniture and equipment for cleaning and replacement when completed.
• Clean window blinds either Venetian or vertical as required.
• Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
• Perform specialized projects such as restoration programs on floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, and other items.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Timely reporting of accidents, injuries, "near-miss", and hazardous situations.

Mandatory:

• General knowledge of hand and power tools. Must have at least 1 year of custodial experience.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Be a U.S. Citizen or legal residency alien.
• Valid state driver's license with clean driving record. Must we willing to travel to San Clemente Island (air travel to and from Naval Base Coronado is provided) and live/work on the island during the week (boarding is provided including kitchenette and shared bathroom).
• Must be able to pass background investigation.

Preferred:

• 2 years Janitorial experience.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed mostly indoors, with some outdoor required when directed. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
• Work hours are subject to change, with overtime, nights, weekends and/or holiday work as needed.
• Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels.
• Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft-carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces and elevated levels using ladders.
• While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders as required.
• Must be able to load/unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Involves walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
