Lab Supervisor - Blood Bank

Labcorp seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee blood bank operations at a Rome, New York hospital facility. The role involves managing daily department operations, supervising technical staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and performing bench work as needed on a 7:00am–3:30pm schedule with weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily blood bank department operations and ensure accurate test performance with timely reporting
• Directly supervise, train, mentor laboratory personnel and manage department staffing schedules
• Research and resolve production errors, monitor workflow, and recommend process improvements
• Maintain quality control, quality assurance records, and ensure regulatory compliance
• Perform bench work as needed and handle administrative duties including payroll and personnel files

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• Four or more years of clinical laboratory testing experience
• New York state Laboratory Supervisor license eligibility
• Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and computers
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test

Compensation: $87,500–$120,000 base; $15,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates
