First Party Property Litigation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a skilled First Party Property Litigation Attorney to join their team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in handling first-party homeowner property claims and a proven track record of representing homeowners in various disputes. This role involves managing a diverse caseload and advocating for clients' rights throughout Texas. Duties Manage a caseload of first-party homeowner property insurance claims from inception to resolution. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis. Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents. Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives. Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration. Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings, as needed. Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and clear explanations of legal strategies. Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys. Stay abreast of developments in Texas insurance law and property claims. Requirements 2+ years of litigation experience; First Party Property Damage experience is a plus. Member of the Texas Bar and in good standing. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Texas. Skills Strong legal research and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
