Medical Staff Services Specialist-Medical Staff Office

Overview Maintains medical staff credentials and privileges in accordance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Maintain accurate records of medical staff members’ credentials and licensure information. Assist with the preparation and submission of medical staff initial applications and reappointments. Identify adverse information during the process and determine the need for further investigation. Monitor compliance with medical staff bylaws, policies, rules, and regulations. Respond to inquiries from medical staff members and hospital staff regarding medical staff policies and procedures. Review primary source verification of all necessary documents to complete credential files. Coordinate quality improvement activities, files, and reports. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required). Licensure: not specified. Certification: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred. Skills: Fast‑paced work environment execution, meeting project deadlines; strong customer service and data entry; accuracy and attention to detail; managing multiple priorities. Experience: Communicating with physicians and other healthcare professionals; verifying information and analyzing documentation. Physical Requirements Occasionally: Bend/twist, decision making, problem solving. Frequently: Interpreting data. Continuously: Computer skills, hand use (grasping, gripping, turning, reaching above shoulder, repetitive hand/arm use); vision – near/far; sitting; talking on phone/in person (frequently).
