Cost Analyst

Tecolote Research is seeking an experienced Cost Analyst to join our National Capital Programs Group. The position is a full‑time onsite role in the Washington Metro Area and requires a Top‑Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility. The expected salary range is $65,000 – $145,000 and is dependent on a variety of factors, including total years of relevant experience, academic achievement, and relevant professional certifications. Responsibilities Develop cost estimates and models, perform cost analysis, and analyze vendor proposals to support contract negotiations and awards for the U.S. Navy across a portfolio of critical programs. Analyze and integrate large datasets from a variety of sources to develop well documented and defendable cost estimates. Utilize cost models to support supplementals such as What‑If analysis, Business Case Analysis, and budget requests. Present analysis and recommendations to enable senior leadership to make critical strategic decisions. Skills Required Top‑Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SCI eligibility. Minimum of 2 years’ experience performing cost estimating or financial/business case analysis. Familiarity with industry standard cost analysis tools (Microsoft Excel, ACEIT, etc.). B.S. in Economics, Business, or a STEM field. Willingness to work full‑time onsite in a classified environment. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Nice to Have Experience supporting DoD Program Offices. Experience working in a classified environment. Familiarity with FAR/DFAR and GAO/DoD Cost Estimating Guides. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. International Cost Estimating and Analysis (ICEAA) certification. Advanced degree (MBA, etc.). Education Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
