At Builders FirstSource, we value our drivers and will support you at every turn through continued learning and training, the right equipment, tools, technology, and an overriding commitment to safety and career growth.Responsibilities:Loading, transporting, and delivering material to customer sitesOperating vehicles weighing 26,000 lbs. or less GVWRLoads and secures product, material, and supplies inside delivery vehicleDelivers customer orders to delivery sites and unloads material safety and accuratelyUses a hand-held device to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOSVerifies order details and maintains log of deliveriesChecks items against invoice to ensure accuracy of orderActs as customer service liaisonHandles customer concerns and helps to resolve issues as they ariseMaintains service logs and pre/post trip inspection proceduresRequirements:High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)21+ years of ageValid driver's licensePrevious delivery experience, preferably with building materials and delivery equipmentMust pass MVR report and obtain a DOT medical card within five (5) days of a requestMust have less than 5 moving violations in the last 5 yearsForklift certificationKnowledge of safety procedures while performing driving and materials handling tasksGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to read and understand maps, routes, road signsExcellent customer service skillsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out route assignmentKnowledge of basic math and measurement skillsWork Environment / Physical Activity:Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust. Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently and on occasion may be required to lift and carry, with assistance, up to 200 pounds.
