Overview AutoZone’s Store Management team drives store performance, fosters a productive team, and ensures exceptional customer service. Managers and MITs play a key leadership role, expected to Live The Pledge and deliver WOW! Customer Service while executing store operations with excellence. The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a transitional role designed to prepare you for promotion into a Retail Store Management position. With a focus on leadership training, customer service excellence, and operational expertise, you’ll receive hands-on assignments and structured learning opportunities. Within 8-12 weeks, you could progress into management—depending on your prior experience and performance. Responsibilities Leadership Development – Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and cultivate a high-performing, engaged store team. Communication Excellence – Maintain clear and effective communication with employees and customers to drive store execution and performance. Metrics Mindedness – Learn to manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements to optimize store profitability. Structure & Process Orientation – Support store operations, ensure compliance with policies, and uphold structured training processes. Teamwork & Training – Assist with staffing, mentoring, and training employees to develop a strong, successful team. Customer Service Leadership – Take charge of customer service activities, ensuring outstanding experiences and resolving concerns proactively. Inventory & Sales Management – Oversee inventory accuracy, store merchandising, and sales strategies to maximize success. Operations Training – Complete management skills training, learning key aspects of store operations and AutoZone culture. Qualifications What We’re Looking For Minimum 1 year: 1–2 years of prior experience as a retail manager or supervisor. Flexible Schedule: Full-time availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. You’ll Go The Extra Mile If You Have Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Exceptional Communication: Strong people skills and effective communication in both Spanish and English. Automotive Retail: Previous experience in automotive retail or analyzing company financials (e.g., Profit & Loss statements) is a plus.
