Summary:

• Escorts patients to exam room and prepares for MD or APRN
• Verifies patient information by interviewing the patient, recording medical history, review of medications, screening tools; confirming purpose of the visit and enters into medical record.
• Accurately obtains and records vital signs
• Maintains effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow in accordance with agency standards
• Ensures lab results are reviewed and signed by provider and disseminated as needed.
• Will participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team in the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of client's treatment or health/mental health care plans.
• Maintains environment of care (EOC) and assigned checks (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, emergency bags/medications, expired medications, oxygen, eye wash station)
• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointment and determines needed services per practice protocol.
• Performs outreach to engage patients as needed.
• Completes program discharges when appropriate per agency policy and procedures.
• Performs administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, processing prior authorizations, messages, telephone calls, referrals etc.
• May perform office procedures including but not limited to CLIA waived point of care testing, EKG, and phlebotomy as ordered by a medical provider.
• Performs all other duties as required.

All agency staff are required to attend all mandatory department/agency meetings and trainings.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Requirements: High school graduate with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a behavioral health care setting or medical assistant training with two years of community/behavioral health care experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with EHRs preferred. Bilingual highly preferred.
