Job Description - Occupational Therapist Assistant Inpatient PRN (260008LR) Occupational Therapist Assistant Inpatient PRN - ( 260008LR ) A Brief Overview Assists the Occupational Therapist in administering the Occupational Therapy program to facilitate the rehabilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The Occupational Therapist Assistant works with the patients administering selected activities/treatments to restore, re-enforce and correct pathology to promote and/or maintain good health. What You Will Do Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable treatment and prevention. Participates in the discharge planning process. Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education Other Accredited Program: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assisting program (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requires treatment skills necessary to provide Occupational Therapy appropriate to the developmental and chronological age of patients on caseload. (Required proficiency) Objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills. (Required proficiency) Physically, cognitively and perceptually able to provide patient treatment. (Required proficiency) Able to assist in physical mobility of patients and equipment. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) or is awaiting Ohio licensure status of Licensure Applicant (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required within 90 Days) #J-18808-Ljbffr University Hospitals
