Hastings Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is seeking a highly driven Automotive Diesel Technician to join our service team. This position is responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel vehicles in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Hastings Auto Group, which started with Hastings Ford, is a locally owned, family business that has grown from 16 employees in 2012 to over 80 employees in its 12 years of operation. What You’ll Do

• Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Work independently and as a team to drive maximum repair efficiency.
• Consistently and concisely detail and document repairs.
• Inspect and maintain shop equipment.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc., to specification.
• Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
• Inspect and test new vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
• Continue ongoing training to stay abreast of the new technology and techniques on the vehicle model lines.

What You’ll Bring

• Previous diesel experience as an automotive technician is preferred but not required.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Team-oriented, flexible, high-energy, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
