Together, the combined company offers a uniquely integrated platform that connects biology across blood and tissue—advancing precision medicine from discovery to diagnostics.Role SummaryYou will be a member of our IT team focused on building, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-level cloud and infrastructure services. In this role, you will apply complete knowledge and full understanding of infrastructure engineering principles, practices, and procedures to resolve a wide range of issues in practical and creative ways. As a fully qualified, experienced professional, you will work independently on problems of diverse scope, evaluate identifiable factors, adapt existing approaches, and select the right course of action while supporting high availability, automation, capacity planning, monitoring, security, and business continuity. You will collaborate with internal partners and advise others on difficult technical matters that support business needs.What You'll DoApply complete knowledge and hands-on experience across infrastructure technologies, best practices, processes, and procedures to support reliable enterprise operations.Work across all phases of the solution delivery lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture, design, implementation, and support.Establish, operate, and leverage enterprise capabilities, hosting solutions, infrastructure services, SLAs, and OLAs.Build and maintain collaborative working relationships across the IT organization.Evaluate infrastructure solutions using sound judgment, available information, business requirements, and established technical standards.Resolve a wide range of infrastructure issues by assessing root cause, adapting existing approaches, and recommending practical variations in approach when needed.Develop system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.Ensure high availability and acceptable performance levels for mission-critical resources.Develop procedures, programs, and documentation for backup and restoration of operating systems and applications.Develop and implement system disaster recovery and business continuity plans.Evaluate, recommend, and execute new technologies and update existing infrastructure to optimize systems and network performance.Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and partner with IT staff or vendors to perform complex testing, support, and troubleshooting.Forecast system demand and recommend upgrades, expansion, and reconfiguration.Partner with senior internal stakeholders and IT teams on infrastructure projects, provide Tier 3 support for complex enterprise infrastructure issues, and advise others on difficult technical matters.Communicate technical ideas, issues, risks, and recommendations clearly to varied audiences, adapting communication style as needed.Develop, perform, and enforce best practices for systems management, including configuration, monitoring, alerting, patch management, and security.Proactively manage and maintain core Windows and VMware systems, establish operating system build standards, and perform quarterly patching.Mentor and cross-train team members on existing and new technologies.Conduct reviews and technical inspections to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses and ensure applied security features are implemented and functional.Create and implement procedures to monitor IT systems for suspicious activity that could indicate attempted or actual security incidents or data leakage events.Perform other duties as assigned.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 5 years of related IT infrastructure experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years of related experience with a Master's degree; or equivalent work experience.Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments, including Windows server administration, troubleshooting, optimization, deployment, migration, Active Directory, VMware, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Azure resources.Expectations, Competencies, Skills & AbilitiesThis position is located in Billerica, MA. Occasional travel of less than 5% to remote locations may be required. Night or weekend work may be required as needed. Employee may be required to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Hands-on experience with authentication, authorization, and accounting technologies, including LDAP, NPS, PAM, Active Directory, Entra ID, and SSO technologies such as SAML. Administration experience with cloud environments related to core infrastructure, including Microsoft 365, Azure resources, and AWS. Experience with telephony and Microsoft Teams. Experience with scripting and task automation. Experience with operating system hardening, patching, remediation, performance tuning, capacity management, and server monitoring. Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and results-oriented skills with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
