Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular (CV) Preoperative Unit Nurse position is located in Asheville, North Carolina. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. This role involves providing specialized preoperative nursing care in a high-acuity, fast-paced cardiac surgery environment, supporting a team committed to delivering excellent patient outcomes.

• Shift: Days (Monday through Friday, 0500-1330)
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 40.0
• Required Qualifications: Active nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, critical care experience of at least zero years, ability to work independently, excellent documentation skills, BCMA (Bar Code Medication Administration) competency, and strong communication skills with interdepartmental teams.
• Preferred Qualifications: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience, preoperative experience.
• Additional Information: The unit has four beds and requires skills in large-bore IV starts, chin to toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment, and assistance with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement. Duties include patient transport to the operating room, assisting with induction and intubation, positioning, and skin preparation. Existing staff are experienced and highly skilled equipped with new equipment and technology, making it an ideal environment for experienced professionals seeking growth.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• Dress Code: Provided uniform.
