In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.This project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year. The successful candidate will locate on a long-term (camp) assignment to Pecos, Texas. This position is contingent upon project award.Job SummaryIn this role, you will provide onsite leadership for mechanical construction activities primarily focused on the project's underground piping that includes HDPE, cast iron, and carbon steel, ensuring all work is executed safely, meets technical requirements, and aligns with project schedule and budget objectives. You will direct craft labor and subcontractors, oversee daily field operations, and drive workforce planning, progress reporting, and cost/schedule performance. Working closely with engineering, construction management, and project controls, you will resolve constructability issues, support the development of work scopes, and ensure effective use of automation tools and project procedures. The position plays a central role in maintaining quality, enforcing use of current design documents, and ensuring that tools, materials, and equipment are available to support efficient execution.Major ResponsibilitiesLeadership/SupervisionLead and direct craft labor and subcontractor teams, ensuring safe and efficient execution of daily work.Oversee subcontractor performance and coordination, ensuring alignment with project expectations.Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.Engage proactively in team development through continuous performance management processes, competency assessments, and continuous feedback.Develops and monitors 3 Week Look Ahead Schedule for assigned work scope. Develop corrective plan to ensure progress and productivity targets are met.Verifies that all material, tools and other resources needed to support the 3 Week Look Ahead Schedule are available and on site.PlanningDetermines workforce requirements.Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.Participates in weekly cost and schedule reviews with senior management.Manages activities with other disciplines or areas and clients'resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.Forecasts labor unit rates, field distributable, construction equipment, and quantities.Monitors BSAP / Automation tools utilized within their area.Enforces the daily usage, including setting expectations from direct reports as stipulated in the Roles and Responsibilities section of BSAP / Automation Functionality Guides.Assigns/ re-assigns Installation Work Packages to the RS BSAP/Automation tools.Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productiveSafety and QualityEnsures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.Monitors work activities and ensure the quality of work performed.Education and Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9 -12 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and SkillsPrevious experience delivering a gas fired power generation facility as a Field Superintendent.Experience working with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.Demonstrated understanding of industry / international codes & standards applicable to work scope.Experiencing leveraging applicable automation software and processes as applicable.A thorough knowledge of Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) erection.A thorough knowledge of Section 1 and B31.1 codes.Competent in supervising heavy lift activities.A thorough knowledge of welding, including the latest technologies and NDE methodsTotal Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
