Design Ready Controls is a leader in control panel building and searching for our next key player to join our production team. The Assembler I position performs a variety of tasks related to the manufacturing of custom control panels. Work includes basic wiring tasks, sheet metal assembly, component assembly and setup, panel wiring and label application. This job requires a basic ability to read schematics and drawings, and a good understanding or willingness to learn electrical symbols and how to use hand tools appropriately. If you love working in a hands on role, with an awesome team and great benefits then we are the spot for you.General Responsibilities:Verify parts for assembly match the Bill of MaterialsAssemble electrical panels according to drawings, including assembling sheet metal pieces, fundamental panel wiring and mounting componentsTerminate wire ends and add terminals as needed that allow the wires to connect to another devicePrepare panels for testing and shipping, including label application, device IDs, wire organization and tying wires together.Troubleshoot basic panel wiring and look for potential electrical issues, including entry into our internal systemLearn to identify process improvement measures and escalate appropriately to the leadership teamMaintain a safe and efficient work area, including but not limited to, wearing appropriate safety glasses and safety-toe boots, and escalating unsafe work practices to the leadership team or Human ResourcesImplement 5S and Lean Manufacturing as required. 5S is a methodology that results in a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity: "Sort," "Set in Order," "Shine," "Standardize," and "Sustain."Assist or participate in training measures as assignedChampion our core values: Innovation, Collaboration, Candor, Integrity and EarnestnessPerforms a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, work across multiple product lines after passing required training and relevant assessments successfullyRequired Skills and Abilities:Ability to use a computer independently, and consistently, to access job documentation and personal recordsAbility to read contrasting colors and correctly identify wire sizeAbility to use basic measurement tools, such as a scale and ruler (mm, cm, inches)Ability to perform basic math (addition and subtraction)The ability to use hand and power tools safely, efficiently, and with the correct torque appliedAbility to work overtime on occasion, depending on business needsStrong attention to detail, general spatial awareness and quality workmanshipPersonal integrity, a drive to learn, a teamwork mentality, and being both safety-focused and customer-focused will set the Assembler I up for successPhysical Requirements:Ability to use hand(s) to frequently cut, strip, crimp, bend and terminate a range of wire sizes (22 – 500 MCM AWG) at least 50% of the timeAbility to use hand(s) to frequently utilize hand tools, table-top tools, drills, torque tools and bandsaw at least 50% of the timeAbility to stand on one's feet or walk averaging 1-2+ hours per shiftAbility to lift up to 10-25 lbs. frequently on average, and up to 50-85 lbs. in team lift on occasionCompensation & Benefits:Competitive Hourly Pay : $19.00-$22.00 DOE + $1.50 p/h shift differentialComprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, Dependent Care FSA, Life Insurance, Disability, ADD, 401(k), Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Floating Holidays, ESST.Disclaimer: This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of skills, efforts, duties, responsibilities, or working conditions associated with the position.
