CNC Field Service Technician, Machine Tool Installation
Put your CNC troubleshooting skills to work installing and servicing precision machine tools for manufacturers across the Upper Midwest.
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of hands-on CNC machine repair or maintenance experience
- Experience with spindles, precision bearings, and rotating machinery
- Strong knowledge of CNC controls and basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 25% across the territory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
What You'll Do
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools and controls at customer sites
- Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Perform preventive maintenance and recommend performance improvements
- Solve complex problems using manuals, technical documentation, and vendor support
- Keep customers informed on equipment status, repairs, and next steps
- Complete accurate service and installation reports
- Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and suppliers
- Expand your CNC expertise through ongoing training and technical seminars
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience across multiple CNC control platforms and machine tool brands
- Background in field service or customer-facing technical roles
Compensation and Benefits
- $26 to $50 per hour, based on experience
