Senior Policy Advisor

This position is located in the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary (ODAS), Division of Policy Development in Washington, D.C. This position is inside the bargaining unit. For GS-14: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-14 level includes all of the following: Experience analyzing and developing national policy and guidance, including legislative and regulatory recommendations, to expand employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities such as mental health disabilities and disabled veterans; Experience leading teams or projects that work with partner organizations or directly with disabled Americans to improve training and/or increase employment opportunities; and Experience developing written materials, such as policy recommendations and briefing papers related to employment for people with significant disabilities.
