Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse

Role Description The Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a full-time, on-site role located in Washington, DC. The LPN will provide direct pediatric nursing care, including assessment, monitoring of vital signs, medication administration, and ongoing support for children and their families in home and community-based settings. Daily responsibilities include implementing care plans under the direction of registered nurses and physicians, documenting patient status and interventions, and communicating changes in condition to the healthcare team. The LPN will collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure safe, compassionate, and person-centered care that aligns with PHG’s core values. The role also involves patient and family education, adherence to regulatory standards, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications Candidates should possess Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credentials with an active, unrestricted license in the applicable jurisdiction. Candidates should possess Pediatric Nursing skills, including experience caring for infants, children, and adolescents in clinical or home health settings. Candidates should possess Nursing and Medicine knowledge sufficient to perform assessments, follow care plans, and collaborate effectively with physicians and other clinicians. Candidates should possess safe and accurate Medication Administration skills, including adherence to pediatric dosing guidelines and documentation standards. Candidates should possess strong communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse, multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should possess commitment to person-centered care, compassion, cultural humility, and maintaining patient dignity and respect.
