How You'll Make an Impact

The Sacramento Valley/Central California (SV/CC) Regional Manager provides dedicated local leadership for the region and is responsible for strengthening the organization's presence through community engagement, fund development, relationship building, program implementation, communications coordination, and organizational development.

This role is ideal for a self-directed leader who has a deep understanding of the needs of Muslim communities throughout the Sacramento Valley and Central California, demonstrates a strong commitment to CAIR's mission, and thrives in a dynamic environment requiring initiative, collaboration, and strategic thinking.

In this role, you will:

• Development & Fundraising Management

Lead the development and execution of multi-channel fundraising strategies, including annual appeals, special events, digital campaigns, social media, direct mail, crowdfunding, and other fundraising initiatives. Maintain a comprehensive development calendar tracking donor communications, fundraising campaigns, grant deadlines, and special events.

Develop and implement a comprehensive donor stewardship program, including donor cultivation strategies, stewardship processes, and a sustainable fundraising pipeline. Manage and cultivate a portfolio of individual and institutional donors to strengthen engagement and increase philanthropic support. Lead the organization's monthly giving program by increasing donor acquisition, strengthening donor retention, and enhancing ongoing donor engagement. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, community leaders, foundations, corporate partners, and other key supporters to advance the organization's fundraising goals.

Lead the development and implementation of donor recognition programs and oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, including the annual banquet, donor appreciation events, and other special events. Secure sponsorships and advertising support for the annual banquet and other fundraising events and organizational programs. Lead local fundraising initiatives, donor cultivation, sponsorships, and community giving campaigns.

Develop, implement, and promote a planned giving program to expand long-term philanthropic support. Provide strategic leadership, oversight, and final approval for all grant and foundation proposals to ensure quality, alignment, and competitiveness.

• Community Engagement & Relationship Building

Develop, lead, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with community members, imams, mosques, Islamic centers, educators, student organizations, elected officials, coalition partners, and community-based organizations. Build partnerships that strengthen the office's visibility, impact, and community trust.

Represent CAIR-SV/CC at community meetings, events, conferences, advocacy activities, and public functions. Identify emerging community needs and communicate trends, concerns, and opportunities to statewide leadership.

• Program Management & Community Education

Oversee and support the local implementation of key programs and initiatives, including Muslim Day at the Capitol (MDAC), the Muslim Youth Leadership Program (MYLP), Know Your Rights (KYR) presentations, civic engagement initiatives, community education workshops, advocacy campaigns, and community forums and outreach events.

• Community Outreach Man agement

Develop, lead, and implement outreach strategies that expand CAIR-SV/CC's reach throughout the region. Attend community events and establish meaningful relationships with diverse segments of the community. Recruit and engage volunteers to support organizational initiatives. Promote services and resources through direct outreach and presentations.

• Communications Management

Lead local communications efforts in partnership with the statewide Communications team. Identify and share community stories, successes, and program highlights. Lead promotion of local events and initiatives through digital platforms and community networks. Coordinate local media opportunities as appropriate. Ensure messaging reflects CAIR-CA's mission and branding standards.

• O ffice & Operational Management

Oversee local office operations and administrative functions. Maintain relationships with vendors, community partners, and service providers. Manage event logistics and office coordination. Manage local budgeting, purchasing, and operational planning in collaboration with statewide leadership.

• Leadership & Organizational Growth

Identify opportunities to expand the office's impact within the SV/CC region. Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers and interns. Supervise local staff and provide coaching, mentorship, and performance support. Foster collaboration across departments to ensure coordinated service delivery.

• Other Duties

Participate in statewide meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned in support of CAIR-CA's mission and operational needs.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit leadership, community organizing, advocacy, public affairs, operations, program management.
• Minimum two years of experience with direct fundraising, donor engagement, or community development.
• Experience supervising employees or leading teams.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and established relationships within the Sacramento Muslim community.
• Strong understanding of issues affecting American Muslim communities and commitment to advancing civil rights and social justice.
• Experience planning and implementing community programs and events.
• Experience building partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common digital communication platforms.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the Sacramento region.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within a mission-driven nonprofit organization.
• Experience working with elected officials, coalition partners, or advocacy campaigns.
• Familiarity with California legislative and civic engagement processes.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel throughout the Sacramento and Central California region.
• Ability to lift and transport outreach and event materials up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to attend community events during evenings and weekends.

Work Environment

This position is based in the Sacramento region and requires regular travel throughout the local community. Evening and weekend work is expected to support community engagement, advocacy activities, fundraising events, and organizational programming.
