Our Binghamton team plays a key role in developing and integrating these cutting edge capabilities, making it an exciting place for engineers who want to innovate, modernize, and contribute to critical national security programs. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **What You’ll Do:*** Develop and maintain software for flight and mission simulators, ensuring reliability and performance to train pilots for safe mission outcomes.* Work on legacy code bases critical to simulator functionality, driving modernization through enhancements, and new features while ensuring maintenance, optimization, and stability.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware, ensuring seamless operation for real-time, mission-critical applications.* Contribute to projects using both Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies, adapting to structured development cycles or iterative sprints as needed.* Write and maintain clean, efficient code, with a focus on real-time systems and simulator performance.* Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional brainstorming to drive innovation within a disciplined development process.* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in legacy and real-time systems, ensuring simulators meet the highest standards for pilot training. **Qualifications and Education Requirements****What You Bring:*** Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).* 8+ years of experience in software engineering for mission‐critical or real‐time environments.* Proven leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring teams, driving technical innovation, and delivering high-quality software in high-stakes environments.* Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for ensuring software reliability in high-stakes training environments.* Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access; U.S. citizenship required.* Flexibility for occasional overtime, shift work, weekend work, and CONUS travel.**Preferred Skills*** Knowledge of MIL‐STD‐810, MIL‐STD‐461, MIL‐STD‐704; ARINC / RTCA experience preferred.* Experience working in Waterfall and/or Agile/Scrum environments.* Background in military training, simulation, or mission‐readiness systems, along with experience working on government or DoD‐aligned programs. **Why You’ll Love Working at CAE*** Your engineering directly supports pilot readiness and mission safety around the globe.* You’ll be part of a company with 75 years of innovation in simulation and immersive training technology.* You’ll help shape next‐generation training solutions in a collaborative, high‐impact environment.* You’ll grow your career alongside engineers who value innovation, excellence, and real‐world impact. **Why Binghamton**?Binghamton blends smalltown charm with big opportunities, offering a welcoming, affordable place to build both a career and a life.
