Description
- Utilize standardized assessments and observational strategies to evaluate patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics.
- Craft individualized therapy plans tailored to specific short-term and long-term communication challenges, including cognitive and swallowing needs.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy that emphasizes communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Engage collaboratively with other healthcare professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families to formulate comprehensive care solutions.
- Provide educational resources and guidance for patients and their families so progress can continue beyond clinical settings.
- Participate in intermittent inpatient evaluations and therapeutic sessions to ensure seamless care continuity throughout treatment.
- Accurately document patient progress and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Commit to professional growth by pursuing continuing education and actively engaging with colleagues.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already certified by ASHA.
Certifications
- Licensed to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
