Mechanical Estimator

Mechanical EstimatorOur client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to support their growing HVAC/R construction and retrofit projects. This role is responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates for HVAC systems in commercial settings. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in mechanical estimating, communicates clearly, builds lasting relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and integrity are paramount.Key Responsibilities:Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for HVAC systemsAnalyze construction documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and pricingCollaborate with internal teams across project management and design to ensure seamless coordinationAttend client meetings and help prepare formal bid proposalsConduct quantity take-offs and assign material and labor costs based on current market dataLead estimating efforts on assigned bids, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are metEngage in value engineering and cost-benefit analysis to optimize pricingBuild and maintain vendor, subcontractor, and client relationshipsSolicit, evaluate, and select subcontractor proposalsTrack and analyze bid results to refine future estimates and improve win ratesSupport business development with proposal support and presentationsCoordinate with Project Managers to ensure estimates align with execution plansConduct bid follow-ups to gather client feedback and finalize project awardsQualifications:5+ years of experience in mechanical/HVAC/R estimatingBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferredProficient in estimating and construction software (e.g., Trimble, Bluebeam, QuoteSoft, Excel)Solid understanding of HVAC/R components, systems, and construction practicesExperience with projects ranging from tenant fit-outs to large-scale mechanical systemsAbility to read and interpret MEP construction documents and plansExcellent written and verbal communication skillsOrganized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneouslyFamiliarity with local and national building codes and industry standardsOutgoing personality with strong relationship-building skillsPrevious use of estimating software is a required
