Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, SOM, Stravitz-Sanyal Institute for Liver Disease, Atlas Institution : Virginia Commonwealth UniversitySchool of Medicine Position Summary We are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Arun Sanyal’s lab. The research focuses on preventing, reversing, and curing liver diseases by leveraging multi‑omic data and clinical trials. The fellow will help develop the multi‑omic Liver Atlas—a data platform that integrates single‑cell, spatial transcriptomics, genomics, metabolomics, and proteomics to provide a systems‑level view of liver biology in health and disease. Position Details Department: Institute for Liver Disease Employment type: Postdoctoral (12‑month appointment, possible renewal) FTE: 100% Exemption status: Exempt Salary: NRSA scale for postdoctoral stipends – NOT‑OD‑25‑105 (commensurate with education and experience) Hours per week: 40 Work arrangement: Fully onsite ORP eligible Qualifications Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field. Excellent computational skills: proficiency in R, Python, R Shiny, high‑performance computing. Strong publication record: primary or key author on major presentations and papers. Deep knowledge of computational tools and programming environments for omics data analysis, including single‑cell and spatial data. Experience working collaboratively, handling multiple projects and shifting priorities to meet deadlines. Creativity, curiosity, high energy, persistence, and a desire to drive scientific advances.
