Middle School Social Studies Teacher

Calvary Christian School is seeking a passionate and engaging Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about history, geography, and culture while fostering a love for learning in a supportive, faith-based environment. Position Overview The Middle School Social Studies Teacher is responsible for delivering a dynamic and comprehensive social studies curriculum to middle school students. This includes creating meaningful learning experiences that develop students’ understanding of historical events, civic responsibility, and global perspectives. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field Valid California Teaching Credential (Single Subject preferred, but not required depending on experience) Experience Prior teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred Experience working with adolescent students in an educational or mentoring setting Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging social studies lessons aligned with curriculum standards Foster critical thinking, discussion, and analytical skills through interactive instruction Create a positive and structured classroom environment that supports student learning Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school events Communicate effectively with parents, students, and administration Integrate technology to enhance instruction and differentiate learning Support students’ social and emotional development Faith & Community Expectations Actively support and model the values of a Christian, faith-based school environment Participate in school community events, meetings, and activities as needed Compensation Competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement options.
