Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must hold a valid RN license Certifications: BLS required; ONS/ONCC certification preferred Must-Have: Telemetry experience Central line draws Blood administration PCA pumps experience Chemotherapy administration experience preferred Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical/Oncology unit. The shift will be days from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The unit has 29 beds and serves an adult population battling cancer, offering palliative care and family education. Telemetry and urology patients are also included in the unit's care. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient ratio of 4-5:1 during the day shifts. Experience in chemotherapy administration within the past year is preferred. The role also involves central line care, blood administration, and assistance with bone marrow aspirations. Candidates must be able to float within their scope to meet facility needs and may work every other weekend. Candidates will need to comply with vaccination requirements as outlined by the facility. Strong candidates without oncology experience may still be considered. Flexibility in scheduling requests is possible, but requests for holidays should be limited.
