Cultural Beliefs One LSC Student Focused Own It Foster Belonging Cultivate Community Choose Learning Job Description PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The PT Specialist III issues procurement cards, provides assistance and training, audits transactions to adhere to policy and procedures, runs reports, analyzes data, and reports audit findings to administrators. The incumbent also provides assistance and training for purchasing, Accounts Payable and credit cards to campus personnel and division managers, trains travel and expense prepay auditors, manages cash handling and accounts receivable of student accounts, and provides guidance to students, LSC Student Services, and LSC Financial Aid regarding tuition, fees, payment plans, and collections. Essential Job Functions Analyze financial procurement card accounts and transactions; report and record violations; issue procurement card and travel and expense credit cards; maintain credit card spreadsheets and data. Provide training and assistance on purchasing guidelines to requestors and division managers; enter requisitions and contracts for business services; assist with office of general counsel contracts and procedures. Provide instruction and direction to campus personnel on accuracy of direct pay requests and accounts payable guidelines; verify and process direct payments. Train and assist Travel and Expense Prepay Auditor; act as backup to the Prepay Auditor for the Travel and Expense module. Create budget journals and general ledger entries; perform year‑end processes; serve as backup for campus business office journal entries, bank deposits and general ledger reconciliations; create general ledger journals for transferring funds. Assist students with account finance and payment activities related to receivables, billing and collection. Manage third‑party billing, collection and reporting functions on student accounts to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Review, validate and adjust student accounts for tuition waiver and fees in accordance with state and financial aid guidelines. Assist cashiers with daily functions; record refund monies for vending machines; request vendors to deliver refunds. Participate in various campus hiring committees for staffing coordination and selection. Record student receivables payments and balance at the end of work session; prepare student receivables deposits. Deliver instructions to students to set up payment plans online; assist students with manual payment plans; assist in completing financial agreements; help obtain and create refund profiles online. Deliver instructions to employees for filling out waivers; email waiver forms; enter waivers into system. Assist students in entering various waivers into the system such as dual credit, Early College High School, State Waivers, Police and Firefighters waivers. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Detailed analytical skills and high level of accounting knowledge. Proficiency in personal computer workstations and standard software applications. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to interact with subordinates and coach work efforts. Excellent communication skills. Ability to organize functions to ensure compliance with deadlines and regulatory requirements. Ability to transfer knowledge to subordinates and higher authorities; determine approach for tasks. Ability to work in a dynamic environment with unpredictable requirements or demands. Ability to follow specific procedures that may involve interaction with co‑workers, citizens, or other individuals. Ability to resolve problems by determining the issue and creating individual solutions. Ability to prepare and/or process purchase orders. Ability to make recommendations that affect the budget. Physical Abilities The work is sedentary. The employee typically sits comfortably but may occasionally walk, stand, bend, carry light items, or drive an automobile. No special physical demands are required. Work Schedule and Conditions Equipment: PC workstation on LAN, Microsoft Windows, calculator, phone and general office equipment. Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out job functions. Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Salary Hourly Pay Rate: $15.60. Benefits Tuition waiver. Participation in a tax‑deferred retirement plan.
