Required Qualifications High school diploma (or equivalent); experience with developmental disabilities preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to meet physical demands (e.g., lifting, assisting with mobility). Helping clients with Toileting responsibilities is required Must have at least five (5) years of valid driving experience and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License, or be willing to obtain one within 30 days of hire. Compassion, creativity, adaptability, and ability to handle challenging situations. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and commitment to fostering independence. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure while working with individuals displaying a range of emotions and behaviors. Must be willing and able to drive regularly as part of job responsibilities. Must be willing to participate in ALL community activities with our clients. Assist program participants with daily living activities (e.g., hygiene, meals). Drive participants to community activities in agency vehicles. Maintain a safe, clean environment and assist with medication and gastrostomy-tube feeding. Implement Individual Service and Support Plans, document progress, and facilitate goal-oriented activities. Promote appropriate social interactions and address challenging behaviors. Adhere to trauma-informed care principles and provide a supportive environment. Participate in training, quality improvement processes, and team collaboration. Qualifications High school diploma (or equivalent); experience with developmental disabilities preferred. QualificationsPhysical and Mental Demands Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching in providing support to program participants with a variety of mobility challenges and program participant personal care assistance. May require the ability to lift 50 lbs. in lifting and transferring program participants. Requires normal range of vision and hearing for adequately supervising program participants. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of program participants with challenging behaviors. Push wheelchairs. Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position. This role combines hands-on support with meaningful community integration, making a positive impact daily.
