We're seeking a Recruiter who’s passionate about discovering top talent, driving company growth, and helping people develop successful careers. In this position, you'll be a strong collaborative partner to our hiring partners, consulting with them around talent acquisition strategies & hiring processes, and executing against the team’s hiring goals. Additionally, we are looking for a recruiter who has experience in scaling technology companies and is eager to take on their next challenge building the next phase of Gusto’s organization. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who will take ownership of building a strong candidate pipeline and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process at Gusto.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

• Own full-cycle recruiting for roles at Gusto, with a focus on req-based hiring and strategic alignment to business needs.
• Partner closely with Hiring PEs to understand org goals and develop customized hiring plans that drive results.
• Build deep, consultative relationships with hiring managers, navigating complex or evolving hiring environments with clarity and confidence.
• Develop tailored strategies to attract, engage, and close exceptional talent through representative sourcing and outreach channels to help build belonging at Gusto.
• Provide a thoughtful, high-touch candidate experience throughout the entire process.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams like Compensation, People Partners, and Executive Operations to ensure seamless execution.
• Contribute to and improve recruiting processes that enable the Invite team to scale efficiently.
• Proactively challenge the status quo, offering creative ideas to elevate the craft of recruiting at Gusto.

Here’s what we're looking for:

• 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including 2+ years in a high-growth tech environment.
• Demonstrated success in req-based recruiting, with a focus on mid- to senior-level hiring.
• Strong track record of influencing and coaching hiring PEs through the entire recruiting lifecycle.
• Proficient with Greenhouse, Gem, Slack, LinkedIn Recruiter, and G-Suite; Demonstrated experience using AI and talent intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT, LinkedIn AI, sourcing automation, competitive insights) to improve efficiency and quality of work.
• Growth mindset toward AI adoption and ability to integrate new tools into recruiting workflows responsibly.
• Committed to inclusive hiring practices, with experience building representative pipelines and partnering to foster belonging.
• Comfortable using funnel metrics and data to inform hiring strategy and drive efficiency.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and enjoy working collaboratively across teams.
• Passionate about Gusto’s mission and the role small businesses play in the world.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $132,000 to $163,000 in Denver & most major metro locations, and $150,000 to $185,000 for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale. Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas. When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees.
