Provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of settings; works under physician oversight as required by state regulation. The Division of Obesity and Nutritional Science, a world class institute with a history of cutting-edge research, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support and conduct clinical research studies focused on diet, nutrition, and disease prevention. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in working with study participants in a clinical research setting. Research participants are seen Monday through Friday in a clinical setting. Our collaborative, team-oriented environment provides strong support and encourages professional growth./ppPrimary Duties Responsibilities:/pulliProvides direct patient care to include obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment via observation, interview and examination; orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies; performs preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations and care; provides direct treatment and management of acute and chronic disease conditions; develops and implements patient-centered plan of care in collaboration with physicians, patients, consultants, nurses, ancillary care providers and others as appropriate to the patients condition./liliMay bill for services covered by collaborative practice agreement./liliProvides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning disease management, complication prevention, disease prevention, and quality of life improvement measures, and outcome management activities./liliMonitors/ensures accuracy of patient medical records; maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc./liliMaintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established clinic/hospital standards./liliManages health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources; may perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations./liliChampions the safety and quality of care for patients using ITB therapy and serves as an expert in the care and management of ITB pumps.
