About the Position

Job Title: Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 0715-1500 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - WA state license - BLS certification Description: Surgical techs will work in a fast-paced operating room environment. The surgical suite consists of multiple ORs with a high volume of cases daily. Techs will assist with inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures. Daily case types include general surgery, bowel resection, gynecological, urological, and others. Techs will be expected to scrub and assist during operations. Additional responsibilities include taking on add-on cases as needed. A charge nurse is available on every shift to oversee operations. Techs must be available for on-call shifts including weekends and holidays. Call response time is 30 minutes. Housing may present challenges in the area. Flexible scheduling options, including block scheduling, are permitted. Common tasks include preparing and maintaining the sterile field during surgeries. Techs may float between departments based on experience. Weekend call may require 12-hour shifts. No specific certification beyond BLS is required for this role. Cancellation policy includes limitations on missed shifts for assignments.
