We have an immediate opening for a Porter. Porters clean and maintain different areas of the Dining Halls, including but not limited to, kitchens, dining rooms, dish rooms, and basements.ResponsibilitiesWashes dishes, pots, and pans.Shampoos rugs.Cleans and washes floors and walls.Uses equipment such as, but not limited to, dish washing machines, rug shampoo machines, and pot washing machines.Assists other employees in the performance of their jobs, as directed by responsible supervisors, using the necessary equipment in the performance of these jobs.Observe safety standards and practices.Performs related duties as required or assigned with job classification.Minimum QualificationsA High School Diploma and/or the equivalent is required.Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / VeteranColumbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.
