Security Operations Engineer

In this role, you’ll be hands-on across the security operations stack in support of strategic solutions that protect and maintain HRT’s global cyber security systems. You could be handling an incident, designing a novel detection, and deploying an automation all within the same day.We are looking for a well-rounded engineer who has extensive incident response experience and is adept at leveraging AI tools to enhance security operations. The ideal candidate is proficient in a programming language (Python preferred), and is comfortable working independently. This role also requires robust technical troubleshooting skills and exceptional organizational and project management skills. ResponsibilitiesHelp maintain and enhance HRT’s security detection and response program to protect our data and intellectual property from both internal misuse and external threatsRespond to malicious activity and anomalous events on HRT’s devices and networksConceive and implement novel security rulesDesign and build innovative automations to supercharge incident responseBuild and utilize AI tools to respond to today’s emerging threatsFoster strong cross-functional relationships with HRT’s global teams and external vendorsQualifications5+ years of experience in a security engineering roleExtensive incident response experienceStrong understanding of attacker tools and techniquesDetection engineering experienceStrong security fundamentalsProgramming experience, preferably in PythonExperience working with and securing Linux systems (Debian is a huge plus!)Track record of independently delivering projects from start to finishWillingness to work an on-call rotation during business hours and one weekend per monthThe estimated base salary range for this position is 150,000 to 250,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
