We'd rely on your collaboration skills to lead our team members, and coordinate interdisciplinary work between teammates, for both local and remote projects.The projects associated with this position will focus on electrical distribution systems primarily for water and wastewater treatment-related facilities which typically include process treatment structures and buildings. By you taking the lead with generating and reviewing electrical equipment drawings, specifications, and approving vendor submittals we will continue to ensure the solid relationship our clients have come to expect from Jacobs. Let's see the big impacts we can make, together!Be responsible for design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilitiesFrom planning studies to final design, the senior electrical engineer will lead in preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projectsElectrical systems include low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, UPS, and batteriesExpertly apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to electrical engineering industryManages several different assignments simultaneouslyProvide quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates in the water marketPerform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flash and competent in equipment sizing, grounding, and relay coordination preferred.Perform field visits and conduct site investigations for public and private clientsProvide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor's request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawingsCollaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locationsDevelop basis of design reports and technical memorandumsMentor junior staffAll other duties as assignedHere's what you'll needBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license and ability to be licensed in multiple states10 years of experience in professional design & preparing contract documents for complex electrical systems associated with water projectsLow and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems,?and control schematics experienceDevelop basis of design reports and technical memorandumsSolid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes, and standard practices, including the National Electrical (NEC) and NFPA requirementsHands-on knowledge and design proficiency in electrical standards, codes, and vendor equipment optionsElectrical system testing and commissioning experienceArc flash experienceFamiliarity with NFPA 820 requirementsIdeally, you'll also haveComputer Aided Drafting (CAD) program experience (BIM is a plus)Instrumentation and Control system design experienceExperience with industrial PLC hardware implementation (Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens)Experience with LEED certification or similar sustainability experienceExperience with renewable energy systems like wind and solarLocationsHerndon - Virginia - United StatesRichmond - Virginia - United StatesVirginia Beach - Virginia - United StatesReston - Virginia - United States
