Position Overview

Serve patients in moments that matter and be a part of the future of health care. UnityPoint – St. Luke’s Hospital, in partnership with SCP Health, is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join its high-acuity Emergency Department in Sioux City, Iowa.

\n

This opportunity offers exposure to a Level III Trauma Center, strong specialty collaboration, advanced resources, and a collegial team environment within a large regional referral hospital.

Clinical & Program Details

• Patient Volume: 30,000 ED visits annually (50-65 patients daily on average)
\n
• Specialties: Emergency Medicine
\n
• Trauma Designation: Level II Trauma Center
\n
• Coverage Model:\n

  • 24-hour physician coverage, 12-hour physician shifts
  \n
  • 30 hours/day NP/PA coverage
  \n
\n
• Number of Beds: 484 licensed beds
\n
• Acuity: Moderate to high
\n
• EMR: Cerner
\n
• Procedures: Full-scope emergency medicine procedures
\n
• ICU: Comprehensive ICU services available
\n
• Admissions/Transfers: Supported by robust inpatient and specialty services
\n
• Fellowship/Residency: Emergency Medicine residency preferred
\n
• Moonlighting: Available
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
\n
• Licensure: Iowa medical license (or ability to obtain)
\n
• Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
\n
• Experience: Prior Emergency Department experience preferred
\n
• Skills & Procedures: Broad emergency medicine skill set appropriate for a Level II trauma center
\n
• Badges: BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ability to obtain)
