Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Front Desk / Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This is a cross-functional position supporting both front-office operations and clinical patient care.

Our clinicians are in the office half days, three days per week , so this position will primarily support front-desk and administrative responsibilities, with clinical Medical Assistant duties during clinician hours. Applicants should understand that this is not a full-time clinical Medical Assistant position or a full-time front-desk position, but a combined role that supports both areas based on the practice schedule.

The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a medical office. Benefits are not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments
• Perform patient check-in and check-out
• Collect co-pays and other patient payments
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Schedule hospital procedures and testing
• Schedule in-office diagnostic testing and procedures
• Assist with medication prior authorizations
• Answer patient calls and address questions and concerns professionally
• Provide excellent customer service and compassionate patient support
• Assist with medical records, coding, filing, and documentation
• Obtain patient vital signs and perform EKGs
• Apply and assist with Holter monitor setup
• Assist clinical staff with daily patient-care activities
• Respond appropriately to basic life-support/emergency situations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
• Perform other front-desk and clinical duties as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical office, cardiology practice, or healthcare setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
• Proficiency with EHR systems; experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is strongly preferred
• Comfortable performing EKGs, obtaining vital signs, and setting up Holter monitors
• Strong computer and administrative skills
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
• Compassionate and professional approach to patient care
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Spanish-speaking is a plus
