Adjunct Faculty, Education 1300 (Online) – LSC-Online, Part‑time, Regular, Job ID 43607 Job Description This position is a part‑time teaching faculty role for Education 1300 conducted online. The instructor is responsible for delivering course content, engaging students, and supporting their learning progress. The role is offered semester‑by‑semester subject to student demand. Essential Job Functions Teach Education 1300 courses at various times and locations. Create engaging lessons promoting student involvement and application of material. Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner. Utilize a course syllabus per institutional guidelines. Meet with and advise students by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods. Evaluate students to measure progress toward course objectives and inform them in a timely manner. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required. Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Mastery of course content. Demonstrated leadership skills with a collaborative style. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work with a wide variety of people. Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, and adult learning methodologies. Commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning. Ability to develop and implement instructional approaches such as service learning, learning communities, and effective use of technology. Ability to use strategies to engage students in their learning. Physical Abilities The work is sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required. Work Schedule and Conditions Use of PC workstation, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment. Interface with internal and external contacts as needed. Work in a climate‑controlled classroom or lab with minimal safety hazards. Hours vary by class time; instructors must meet classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside instruction.
