Security Manager

Responsibilities Under general supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, performs very responsible work in the supervision, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and/or evaluation of Security initiatives. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and/or evaluate security initiatives at each NYCHA development. Assist in the resolution of layered access requests/issues, alongside Property Management. Conduct and attend Borough wide and/or local security meetings. Coordinate and facilitate staff meetings, training sessions and community meetings as required, (i.e., PSA and community boards). Maintain security records, written reports, daily and monthly metrics. Conduct regular audits of files to ensure compliance with department/agency guidelines and protocols. Conduct unannounced inspections of buildings where there are Security/Firewatch guards. Coordinate trainings for new security staff. Special Conditions Individual selected for this position will be actively engaged in physical building inspections, as well as performing tasks that require a lot of walking, climbing stairs and standing for long periods of time. NOTE: Office of Safety & Security employees are required to hold all confidential information in trust and strict confidence; unauthorized information sharing is strictly prohibited. NOTE: The Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) administered a civil service exam for the Associate Investigator title on 09/25/25. Therefore, applicants (candidates) that did not take and pass the exam will potentially not be considered; likewise, applicants not reachable on the established civil service list will potentially be in jeopardy of being replaced with an eligible civil service candidate. NOTE: IF THIS APPOINTMENT IS MADE ON A PROVISIONAL BASIS PURSUANT TO 65 OF THE NYS CIVIL SERVICE LAW, NO TENURE OR PERMANENCE ACCRUES TO AN INCUMBENT IN THIS POSITION BY VIRTUE OF SUCH APPOINTMENT. ASSOCIATE INVESTIGATOR (NOT PR - 31121)

Minimum Qualifications A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory, full-time experience as an investigator evaluating credit worthiness, searching for assets, verifying information concerning education, experience, and other personal qualifications bearing upon character and fitness for employment, or performing investigations involving the research, compilation and/or location of evidence or information in order to build a case or uncover activities of a criminal, corrupt, unlawful or unethical nature; or An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in "1" above; or A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in "1" above; or Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.
