Full-Time Day Shift: approximate shift times of 7am to 5pm Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill a position as a Preventative Maintenance Technician for our Virginia SMA operations in Roanoke, VA. This position will perform PM duties, along with routine maintenance and light repairs on a wide variety of aggregate/mining equipment. This role will work to service construction equipment across the Roanoke area.

Job Details:

• Wages starting at $18.00/hr.
• Higher pay offered for experienced multi-craft maintenance professionals.
• Overtime available
• Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications:

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under company safety policies and practices.
• Must have a valid DOT health card or be able to obtain.
• Minimum of three years of experience working on equipment.
• Ability to change oil, change filters, take oil samples, complete sample documentation, and submit for analysis.
• Ability to plan maintenance in a coordinated method that doesn't interfere with production schedule.
• Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
• Ability to climb and perform work at heights of 20 feet
• Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance on mining and quarry equipment.
• Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
• Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
• Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
• Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
• Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
