A day in the life
It’s an early start in Burbank, CA. You review the day’s work orders, load the right fittings and fixtures, and head to your first stop—a residential leak that needs a fast, clean fix. By mid-morning, you’re coordinating with a GC on a light commercial tenant improvement, making sure rough-ins line up with the plans. In the afternoon, you complete a preventive check on a water heater, document materials used, and wrap up with a satisfied client who knows their plumbing system is compliant and ready for the long haul.
What you’ll handle- Install, service, and maintain plumbing systems—including pipes, fixtures, and appliances—across homes and commercial sites.
- Diagnose issues accurately and deliver timely, effective repairs and solutions.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to extend system life.
- Ensure all work meets local plumbing codes and regulations.
- Coordinate smoothly with other trades and contractors to keep projects on schedule.
- Keep clear, accurate records of tasks performed and materials consumed.
- Provide professional, courteous customer service with concise, friendly communication.
- Valid California Journeyman Plumber license.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation and repair.
- Solid command of plumbing systems, tools, and trade techniques.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Sharp troubleshooting abilities and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
