What You'll Do

As a Withdrawal Support Specialist, you'll help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where clients can begin recovery with dignity and confidence.

During a typical week, you will:

• Welcome and support clients throughout the withdrawal process with compassion and professionalism 
• Assist with admissions, orientations, and daily program operations 
• Monitor client well-being and observe for withdrawal symptoms or behavioral changes 
• Record vital signs and accurately document client observations in the electronic health record 
• Communicate concerns promptly to nursing staff and other members of the treatment team 
• Support clients with meals, hydration, comfort items, and daily living needs 
• Encourage recovery-focused engagement while reinforcing program expectations 
• Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment 
• Collaborate with nurses, counselors, and support staff to promote continuity of care 
• Protect client privacy while maintaining compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and ARC confidentiality      standards 
• Practice trauma-informed, person-centered care in every interaction 
• This position primarily works day shifts , with occasional flexibility needed for nights, weekends, or coverage as part of a collaborative team environment.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED 
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to remain calm and responsive in fast-paced or high-stress situations 
• Ability to recognize and communicate changes in client condition 
• Strong organizational and documentation skills 
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team 
• Understanding of professional boundaries, confidentiality, and trauma-informed care 
• Knowledge of or ability to maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and ARC confidentiality      standards 
• Basic computer skills, including electronic health record documentation 

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in a healthcare field (EMT, Medical Assistant, CNA, or similar) 
• QMHA or CRM certification 
• Experience in withdrawal management, behavioral health, substance use treatment, or healthcare 
• Experience supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health or substance use crises 
• Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills 
• Bilingual English/Spanish

Compensation

• $24.00 - $27.60 hourly (approximately $44,928.00 - $51,667.20 annually)
• • $1.00 NOC shift differential
• • Pay is based on experience, demonstrated skills, and qualifications
