Material Coordinator

The Material Coordinator manages plant materials and ensures accurate inventory records in the ERP system for the Calex site. This role oversees tactical purchasing for KANBAN materials, coordinates the flow of raw materials and finished goods, and supports production, shipping, and office operations to meet customer demand and production schedules.
Responsibilities
- Control inventories of raw materials and finished goods to ensure product availability meets production schedules, customer demand, and product development needs.
- Coordinate incoming materials, picking, and shipping activities, working closely with user departments to track progress of work and completion dates.
- Monitor and report on work progress, inventory levels, and any issues or constraints that may impact production or delivery.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through process control and regular cycle counting, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies and report findings to leadership when applicable.
- Liquidate outdated stock and take proactive actions to resolve out-of-stock situations to minimize disruption.
- Maintain and update inventory records in the ERP system to ensure data integrity and traceability.
- Perform quality-focused checks on orders, including verifying quantities, recording and checking lot numbers, and obtaining secondary verifications as required.
- Conduct incoming and outgoing inspections of materials and finished goods as needed to support quality standards.
- Execute purchase requisitions for assigned production materials in alignment with ERP/MRP requirements and KANBAN processes.
- Interact with various internal and external groups, including production, shipping, and suppliers, to facilitate the completion of all material-related activities.
- Serve as a backup for Production Planning and provide administrative support to the Calex office as required.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to support accurate picking, shipping, and inventory management.
- Label materials and maintain organized warehouse and inventory storage areas to support efficient operations.
- Experience with warehouse operations, including incoming, picking, and shipping of materials.
- Proficiency with inventory control and inventory management processes.
- Ability to perform and manage cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Hands-on experience using RF scanners for inventory and warehouse activities.
- Computer skills, including working with ERP and MRP systems for inventory and purchasing.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and related software tools.
- Ability to check orders for quantity accuracy and record and verify lot numbers.
- Capability to perform incoming and outgoing inspections with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Effective communication skills to interact with internal departments and external partners.
- Quality-focused mindset with a commitment to accuracy and process control.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with multiple workstations.
- Background in inventory management systems such as Innovex or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with KANBAN processes and tactical purchasing of production materials.
- Exposure to ERP/MRP-based purchasing and production planning support.
- Ability to provide administrative support to office functions when needed.
- Comfort working both on the production floor and in an office/computer-based setting.

Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing environment with multiple stations, where conditions reflect the weather and can be hot in warm seasons and cold in cooler seasons. The position involves spending most of the day on the production floor conducting inventory activities, followed by computer-based work toward the end of the day to update records and manage ERP tasks. The workplace maintains a family-like feel while being part of a publicly owned organization, and you will regularly use warehouse tools such as RF scanners, warehouse management systems, and ERP/MRP software to perform your duties.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
