Hollow Rock Manufacturing is seeking a hands-on, bilingual (English/Spanish) Warehouse & Operations Supervisor to lead daily warehouse and production support activities at our Rockford, Illinois facility.

The successful candidate will provide leadership for warehouse personnel, raw material receiving, inventory control, shipping and receiving, food/feed safety programs, and overall operational excellence. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing operations within food, grain, feed, dairy, or agricultural processing environments and the ability to lead a team while maintaining safety, quality, and production goals.

Responsibilities: 

· Supervise and lead a team of four or more employees.

· Operate the facility in the Plant Manager’s absence and make sound operational decisions during non-business hours.

· Coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory movement, and shipping.

· Oversee raw material receiving, inventory accuracy, and material flow throughout the facility.

· Operate forklifts and ensure safe material handling practices.

· Review and maintain warehouse documentation, logs, and daily operational records.

· Utilize ERP and Warehouse Management Systems such as NewBoss (preferred) or similar WMS platforms.

· Verify Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping documents, receiving records, and inventory transactions.

· Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and sanitation requirements throughout warehouse and production operations.

· Support and maintain SQF certification requirements, including policies, procedures, documentation, traceability, audit readiness, and corrective actions.

· Work closely with Quality and Operations teams to maintain food/feed safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance.

· Participate in internal and external audits and assist with corrective action implementation.

· Coordinate bulk receiving and bulk material handling activities.

· Maintain inventory accuracy and investigate inventory discrepancies.

· Monitor employee productivity, attendance, safety, and performance.

· Troubleshoot equipment, material flow, and operational issues, coordinating with Maintenance as needed.

· Communicate effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, and Production teams.

· Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

· Serve as a working supervisor and actively participate in day-to-day warehouse and operational activities.

· Continuously learn and adapt to the dynamics of the agricultural, ingredient recovery, and manufacturing industries through training and self-directed growth.

 

Basic Qualifications:

· Fluent in English and Spanish.

· High school diploma or GED.

· 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, food production, grain processing, feed manufacturing, dairy processing, or related industries.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Agriculture, or a related field preferred but not required.

· Experience supervising four or more employees.

· Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

· Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and raw material management.

· Experience in animal feed, grain processing, ingredient recovery, food manufacturing, dairy byproduct processing, agricultural manufacturing, or similar production environments preferred.

· Understanding of food/feed safety, quality assurance, traceability, documentation, and audit requirements.

· Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

· Working knowledge of ERP systems, warehouse management systems, or NewBoss.

· Understanding of Bills of Lading and shipping documentation.

· Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and production issues.

· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and sanitation requirements.

· Experience working within Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification standards.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

 

Physical Requirements

· Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.

· Work in manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor environments as needed.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate cross-functionally.
