High School Math Teacher (Job ID: 3361) Position Type: High School Teaching/Mathematics Job Summary This position provides instruction to students and performs a wide variety of tasks with curriculum planning, supervision, presenting and reinforcing learning concepts, and teaching children in a classroom setting. Possess knowledge of the subjects taught and understand which concepts and skills are central to the discipline. Develop lessons that incorporate other subjects and incorporate skills that are part of other subjects. Demonstrate knowledge of not only the subject content, but also of the students who are learning the appropriate content, including child development, learning processes, student skills, knowledge, language proficiency, and interests and special needs. Responsible for directing instructional outcomes that reflect important learning so that all students can demonstrate their understanding of the content. Recognize the importance of the selection of resources and choose resources that align directly with the learning outcomes and are most useful to the students. Qualifications Teaching license for the particular position as required by the state. Familiarity with the use of computers including electronic mail, the Internet, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets (Microsoft Office). Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with students, parents, and staff. Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate to students, parents, and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner. Working Conditions Per the T-CEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
