Summary: The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fabrication shop, including personnel supervision, production scheduling, quality control, safety compliance, and workflow management. The Fabrication Supervisor will work closely with engineering, sales, project management, procurement, and operations teams to ensure fabrication projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule while meeting DXP and customer quality standards. Responsibilities of the Fabrication Supervisor include, but are not limited to:• Supervise fabrication shop personnel and provide day-to-day leadership and direction.
• Coordinate and prioritize fabrication schedules to meet production goals and customer deadlines.
• Monitor shop workflow and allocate resources to maximize efficiency and productivity.
• Review work orders, drawings, specifications, and job requirements prior to fabrication.
• Ensure fabrication activities are performed in accordance with quality standards and customer specifications.
• Conduct inspections and verify completed work meets company and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, sales, procurement, and operations teams regarding project status, material requirements, and scheduling needs.
• Monitor job progress and maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate fabrication personnel to support performance and professional development.
• Promote and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with hiring, employee development, performance management, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Support inventory management, material staging, and equipment maintenance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve shop processes, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications of the Fabrication Supervisor include, but are not limited to:
• 5+ years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, industrial production, or related field.
• Prior supervisory, lead, or management experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
• Knowledge of fabrication, welding, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Additional Information
• Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training preferred.
• Physical Demand: Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Working Conditions: Shop environment.
• Shift Time/Overtime: Day Shift with OT.
