Department: Avionics Employment Type: Full Time Location: Hawthorne, California Reporting To: Jake Peery Compensation: $170,000 – $226,000 per year What You'll Do Own the development of vehicle power electronics from clean sheet to flight, including solar power conversion, battery management systems, power distribution and load management, voltage regulators, etc. Develop and implement PCBA requirements, use‑cases, and system integration. Schematic capture and PCBA layout for power and analog circuits in Altium Designer. Perform design analysis including power, size, mass, Monte Carlo tolerances, and reliability related. Conduct PCBA design verification testing, qualification testing, and system integration testing. Lead design reviews for inter‑disciplinary audiences. Manufacturing and flight support as needed. Design for space environments, including radiation impacts and mitigations. What's Prepared Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. 10+ years of experience in power electronics design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing. Expertise in solar power, voltage regulation, load management, fault protection, power transmission, analog instrumentation, and digital circuits. Proficiency in schematic capture and layout of complex PCBAs. Experience performing circuit analyses in SPICE and Excel. Proficiency with basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering iron, etc. Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment.
