Clinical Laboratory Scientist Medical Laboratory Technician Medical Technologist

Position Overview Role: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Shift: Day/Evening (includes night, weekend, and on-call rotations) Reports To: Laboratory Manager Qualifications & Requirements Education: Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related clinical laboratory science discipline. Licensure: Active license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in the State of Montana. Certification: ASCP or equivalent national certification required. Experience & Technical Skills: * Experience across all areas of the laboratory, with strong familiarity in Microbiology and Immunohematology (Blood Bank). * Proficiency with specialized analyzers, general laboratory equipment, and computer systems. Regulatory & Operations: Knowledge of CLIA standards, HIPAA regulations, compliance guidelines, and departmental budgeting. Key Abilities: Ability to work productively without direct supervision, research and establish new testing procedures, and maintain cooperative relationships across all departments. Key Responsibilities Specimen Testing & Analysis: Prepare biological specimens, operate automated analyzers, perform manual testing following exact procedures, and evaluate test results across all laboratory sections. Quality Management: Oversee departmental Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Proficiency Testing (PT) processes. Performance Improvement: Participate in facility-wide quality and performance improvement initiatives.
