Qualifications & Requirements ICU RN Ratios: 1:2 Years of experience required: 2 years First timers accepted: Yes Weekend requirement: Yes (varies/flexible) Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS (NIH preferred) On-call: No Floats within scope: Yes to AAU and MS Block schedule: To be discussed Locals accepted: No RTO Restrictions: Must work 2/3 major holidays Guaranteed hours: 8–10 hour shifts – 40 hrs weekly; 3 12-hour shifts – 36 hrs weekly; 4 12-hour shifts – 48 hrs weekly Special Clinical Responsibilities Interpretation of dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias Multi-system organ failure management Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention IV insulin protocols GI Surgery Chronic/Acute Renal failure Arterial line management Blood Product Administration Central line care/management PICC line management Continuous IV sedations Titrate Cardiac drips Titrate Vasoactive drips BiPap and CPAP Management Care of ventilated patients HFNC interpretation of ABGs Suctioning vent management Infection prevention, isolations/use of PPE Unit Information Heavy Medical ICU with surgical patients, mainly GI or carotids. 24/7 Cath Lab that admits into ICU.
