As a 28-bed Medical/Surgical Progressive Care Unit—often called a Step-Down Unit—we provide care for a variety of conditions, including pulmonary, cardiac, renal, hematologic/oncologic, gastrointestinal, and more. This environment allows you to sharpen skills and build critical thinking while working with complex patients. The team collaborates closely with the ICU’s and Rapid Response team, providing a fast‑paced, supportive setting. Expectations Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association. Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience; this position is not for new grads. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; current RN licensure in an appropriate state. One year of nursing experience preferred. What You’ll Do As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, and compassionate communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. About This Location Atrium Health Cabarrus is a 457‑bed tertiary care facility serving Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, and surrounding counties.
