Portfolio Analyst

Our client, a leading global credit-focused Alternative Asset Manager in New York City, is looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-7+ yrs. supporting portfolio managers or traders in a credit context, with hands‑on command of the trade lifecycle and the Excel modeling chops to build projection and portfolio‑reporting tools from scratch. You will Sit alongside the investment team as the operational link across trading, research, treasury, middle office, fund accounting, and compliance Cover investment committee sessions, quarterly deal reviews, and credit workflow meetings, capturing decisions, approvals, and follow-ups with accuracy and discretion Own the committee ledger and log approvals, target sizing, and position changes in the firm's internal system for both new investments and existing holdings Build and enhance cash flow projection models across credit facilities, and deliver portfolio‑level reporting that lets PMs sensitize returns, stress positions, and track performance against targets Monitor current and projected exposure across sidecar and co‑investment vehicles, including capital calls, distributions, and liquidity Maintain issuer, borrower, and position‑level records so portfolio information stays current, organized, and accessible; implement automation to improve efficiency whenever possible Qualifications 3-7+ yrs. in investment operations, middle office, product control, or a deal‑team support seat at an asset manager, bank, CLO manager, or similar credit platform Working knowledge of credit instruments — bonds, term loans, revolvers, delayed‑draw facilities, mezzanine, preferred, and structured credit — plus the underlying math: spread, YTM, OID, PIK mechanics, leverage and coverage, and covenant structures Advanced Excel required (financial modeling, dynamic projection tools, pivot tables, portfolio roll‑up reporting); PowerPoint and Word for committee materials and stakeholder reporting Bloomberg proficiency preferred; exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools is a plus Medical benefits Qualified candidates will be contacted within two business days of application.
