Job Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT/Clinical Lab Scientist) is responsible for performing high-complexity blood bank testing in a hospital laboratory setting. The role involves working night shifts and ensuring accurate, timely laboratory results to support patient care.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Conduct blood bank testing using advanced laboratory instruments and systems.
  
  
• 
  Maintain and calibrate Epic Beaker and Sunquest LIS systems to ensure optimal performance.
  
  
• 
  Follow established safety, compliance, and laboratory protocols under department guidelines.
  
  
• 
  Perform quality control procedures and document results accurately.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with laboratory management and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
  
  
• 
  Complete department-specific training and safety reviews prior to independent testing.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid Blood Bank Personnel (HCTP) or Trainee License issued by the WV Department of Health.
  
  
• 
  Possess a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related biological or chemical science degree; or equivalent experience with CLIA grandfathered exception.
  
  
• 
  Have experience working with Epic Beaker, Sunquest, and NEO Iris instruments.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in high complexity testing and blood bank procedures.
  
  
• 
  No direct patient contact required.
